Prison policy and guarantee of comprehensive care to the health of the child who lives together with mother deprived of freedom, Mozambique

The provision of health ´s human right emphasized by the Republic Mozambique, for considering as a good for the sustainable development in Constitution. The entrance into the prison system of women with young children who lack access guarantee and special health care is a problem. The study objective to analyze how the comprehensive health care policy for children aged 0-5 years is incorporated into the Prison Health Care Service. The qualitative approach focused mothers with children residing in prison, taking into account the variables socioeconomic, demographic conditions and related to the biological conditions of the environment woman with children. The data collected were treated by content analysis. Five mothers in cohabitation with children participated in the study, being mostly young, single, low schooling, without nutritional and healthy support and abandoned by families of origin or formed where they carried out domestic activities and informal commerce. It is concluded that the socio-sanitary reality of vulnerability and marginalization is not favored by public health policies, which need to valorize health care more egalitarian, adequate and resolutive, regardless of the legal situation, because it is still far from what is recommended for health care in prisons.
